We’ve spent the past few weeks sharing why our member businesses believe Murfreesboro Matters. Part of the 14th annual Independents Week, held on July 1-7, the campaign brought attention to the benefits of supporting locally owned independent businesses.
Independents Week is an annual campaign, encompassing July 4, to engage local independent businesses and citizens in celebrating entrepreneurial spirit and the freedom our local businesses embody.
The week also is an occasion to recognize small businesses’ contributions to the community–and to affirm citizens’ role in shaping their community’s future.
In addition to the social media campaign, Murfreesboro Mayor Shane McFarland also read a proclamation in honor of LOM at the Thursday, June 15 City Council meeting at City Hall.
Independents Week was started by the American Independent Business Alliance to tout the benefits of supporting independent businesses.
