Back in April, the Charitable Events Committee agreed that Locally Owned Murfreesboro’s ongoing charitable giving would be directed in the form of scholarships for aspiring young business people from our major high schools.
It was also agreed that in lieu of doing (yet another) fundraiser or 5K, and asking even more of our members to give their time, talent, or treasure. That this would be conducted as a donation drive.
The Donation Drive will be from Nov. 1-Dec. 31 at participating locations.
Each of the members will be receiving a Mason jar with scholarship details and signage by Oct. 31. We ask that you display this prominently in your place of business and if so inclined encourage your patrons and guests to participate with any loose change or contributions that they would like to make.

In conjunction with the live donations, we will be running a digital Facebook campaign as well. It would be greatly appreciated if you would share it from your business or personal Facebook page.
If possible please reconcile any in-person donations weekly and send them to our Treasurer Roxanne Covington (roxann@servicesbycms.com) so that we may keep a rough estimate of our total.
Our goal for the first year is $3,000, which would constitute a $500 scholarship to six students from each of our high schools.
